The Cowichan Artisans gather to plan their Spring Studio Tour themed around Growth

The Cowichan Artisans have chosen “Growth” as the theme for their upcoming Spring Studio Tour — a good, open-ended and hopeful theme that each artist will explore in their own unique way.

“I have heard that an artist’s growth comes not in a sudden explosion of new skills and ideas but gradually, slowly, like sunlight moving across a wall. Being an artist, like anything else, means constant practice. We, in the Artisans, are in a state of constant practice, failure and growth.” — Laurel Hibbert

Diverse Interpretations of Growth

Some artists see Growth as the joy in the trust and emotional growth of a rescue dog. Others explore the theme in nature. Some explore what uncontrolled growth can do. Visitors may be moved, inspired, or find humour and sentimentality in the explorations.
